Reynisdrangar are basalt sea stacks located under the mountain Reynisfjall near the village of Vík í Mýrdal, the southernmost point of Iceland. It is a popular destination for both foreign and domestic tourists. However the shore near Vík í Mýrdal is occasionally dangerous due to the ”öldugangur”, the surge of the tidal waves. This animation is created from a vista that I filmed, and a drawing which I made with graphite on paper of the same view. The palm tree and the pelican that appear briefly visually acknowledge positive aspects of climate change, that some politicians of the Icelandic right wing have made public statements about in response to global warming.
